Does my phone support eSIM?

Most modern smartphones do. iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and most other flagship phones from 2020 onwards support eSIM. If you’re not sure, go to Settings → General → About — if you see an IMEI2 or an ‘Available SIM’ field, you’re good. Check your device on our compatibility page.

When does my plan start?

Most plans activate the moment the eSIM first connects to a local network at your destination — not when you buy, and not when you install it. So you can install it at home before you leave without wasting any data or days.

Will I lose my regular number?

No. Your physical SIM and your CocoRoam eSIM run at the same time. Your regular number stays active for calls and texts — you just use the eSIM for data. No SIM swap required.

Can I use hotspot or tethering?

Yes. All CocoRoam plans support hotspot and tethering at no extra cost. Connect your laptop or tablet to your phone's hotspot and share the data.

What if my plans change and I don't travel?

If you haven't activated your eSIM (i.e. it's never connected to a network at your destination), we'll refund it in full. Just get in touch with our support team.

How long does installation take?

Under two minutes. You'll get a QR code by email right after checkout. Open your phone's camera, point it at the QR code, tap Install, and you're done. You can do this anywhere — at home, at the airport, wherever.

Do I get a new phone number with CocoRoam?

No — CocoRoam plans are data-only. Your existing number stays the same. If you need to make calls locally, you can do so over WhatsApp, FaceTime, or any VoIP app using your CocoRoam data.
